The World Nuclear Fuel Market (“WNFM”) is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of personal information. This Data Privacy Policy outlines the information WNFM will collect and how it will use that information.  

Types of Personal Information

WNFM collects certain personal data regarding its members and attendees at its events.  Personal information that WNFM collects and processes include:
  • member’s name, company name and address, e-mail address, telephone number, position, and administrator rights (where applicable);
  • member’s attendance at WNFM events.


Uses of Personal Information

Members’ personal information collected is used by WNFM for the following business purposes:
  • inviting WNFM members to our events (such as annual meetings and working groups);
  • informing members of WNFM publications; 
  • providing updates about WNFM activities;
  • distributing information of general interest within the scope of WNFM’s aims and objectives;
  • encouraging participation in our conferences and other events;
  • enabling WNFM members to make their personal information visible to other WNFM members;
  • sharing lists of attendees at WNFM events with other members;
  • conducting surveys and asking for feedback.

Personal information is kept confidential and is not accessible to anyone apart from WNFM and other WNFM members.  
 


Data Protection Principles:

This Data Protection Policy is intended to ensure that personal data is dealt with correctly and securely in accordance with the applicable laws. It will apply to data regardless of the way it is collected, used, recorded, stored or destroyed; and irrespective of whether it is held in paper form or electronically.  All members must be aware of their duties and responsibilities with respect to data protection and abide by this policy. 
 
Personal data shall be:
  • processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner;
  • collected for a specified, explicit and legitimate purpose;
  • adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purpose for which they were processed;
  • accurate and kept up to date by the members as part of the annual renewal of their membership.
  • kept only as long as is necessary for WNFM’s legitimate purposes;
  • processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures;
  • not be sold or shared with third parties other than other members.
 
Unfortunately, due to the existing regulatory environment, we cannot guaranty that all of your personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Data Protection Policy. By way of example (without limiting the foregoing), we may be forced to disclose information to the government or third parties under certain circumstances, or third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private information. Further, we can (and you authorize us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate. Therefore, although we use industry standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not guaranty that your personal information will remain private. 


WNFM commitments

WNFM is committed to maintaining the above data protection principles at all times. Accordingly, the Board of WNFM will:
  • inform individuals why their data is being collected when it is collected;
  • delete or amend as appropriate any data that members report to be out of date or inaccurate;
  • ensure that data is not retained for longer than is necessary;
  • ensure that when obsolete data is destroyed that it is done so appropriately and securely;
  • ensure that clear and robust safeguards are in place (such as password protected computers) to protect personal data from loss, theft and unauthorised disclosure, irrespective of the format in which it is recorded;
  • share data with others only when it is required and legally allowed;
  • establish and implement procedures to ensure compliance with the duty to respond to requests for access to personal data;
  • not sell, lend, rent or otherwise disclose any personal information to any third parties other than as described in this Data Protection Policy;
  • ensure Board members and staff are aware of and understand these policies and procedures.


Events

WNFM events, whether held in person or virtual, will not be recorded or made available by WNFM on any basis other than livestream. The making and distribution of recordings of WNFM events by members and other attendees is strictly forbidden. WNFM reserves the right to exclude, with immediate effect, any attendee at a WNFM event who infringes this rule.  
   
Pictures of members captured at WNFM events may be taken and published on the WNFM website. Members may not be named or tagged in these photos without their permission. The event name and date will be shown on the WNFM website. 

Members can opt out from having their picture published by notifying event organisers of their preference. If members do not opt out, they implicitly agree to have their pictures uploaded to the WNFM website. 


Opt-in/Member Rights/Removal of Information


By registering as a member of the WNFM, each member confirms to have read and accepted this Data Protection Policy. Furthermore, each member commits to protecting the personal data of other members according to this Data Protection Policy.

Members have the right to:
  • ask for access to, or rectification or erasure of their personal information;
  • restrict processing (pending correction or deletion) of their personal information.

If you wish to wish to request access to your personal information or to modify or remove your personal information or that WNFM remove a picture where you appear or make any other requests or inquiries regarding your personal information, please contact us.

This Data Protection Policy will be reviewed from time to time, and WNFM may amend this policy at any time.  The then-current Data Protection Policy will be published on WNFM’s website.
